OPENING QUESTION:
We know that "Star Trek Continues" posted a copywrite (-ish) notice on their website.
Clearly they were hoping avoid entanglements with the Star Trek copywrite holder (CBS).
Why were they (and every other fan-based Star Trek video production organization) unsuccessful?
